Sherilyn
Wine Tasting

Please keep the family and friends of Sherilyn in your thoughts and prayers. Sherilyn, an Army Veteran, died in our Green Room after being with us for just a week.

Retired Air Force Colonel Hal Smarkola stopped by to thank her for her service, present her with a small American flag (which he folded himself) and deliver a final salute.

After Sherilyn died, her husband Ken placed the flag and her rings in his front shirt pocket. “She laughed every day – she always found something to laugh about,” he told us. “She was a fabulous person. I pined for her for many years before she agreed to marry me. I always said to myself, ‘I’ve got to marry her. I’ve got to marry her.’ She finally said yes.”

We’re glad she did, Ken, and we know you’ll miss her so very much.

Sherilyn was under the care of Freedom Hospice.
